A quick and easy 2-5 min activity to bring your blood pressure down, your heart rate in check and calm the mind. Breathing! I mean really breathing, fully breathing.
So here we go…
Breath in through your nose, really expand your stomach as if there was a balloon expanding in there. Once your have brought in a really deep breath, relax, really relax and let the breath come out through your mouth. Taking all your stress and anger out of you. Feel yourself calm down and relax. Take in another deep breath filling your stomach balloon, don’t rush it in, let it be a long slow steady in breath through your nose. Then relax again.
Even after a few of these breaths you will notice a difference in how you feel physically, emotionally and mentally.
Simple, portable and effective. When you get really practiced at this technique you’ll be able to do this at a moments notice, in whatever situation you find yourself without anyone else around you noticing.
Remember not to rush this, or over exaggerate this so you don’t hyper ventilate. It is a slow controlled breath in through the nose pushing your belly out, and slow breath out through the mouth.
